Spring Signs

As spring bursts to life, so do the colours of nature - from the yellow-greens of freshly born leaves, to the radiant goldenrod of daffodils and rich purple lilac, and fiery red tulips. The holiday of Easter dominates the season in the US and western Europe, where folks don their best pastels for religious services. Even chocolate candy-coated eggs come in pastels.

This week, I wanted to dive into the three signs of spring - Aries, Taurus, and Gemini - and evaluate the colours we can associate with both the signs and the season. From there, I’ll link some of my favourite products to design with so you can bring spring cheer into your home too!\

ARIES

Fiery, forward Aries marks the beginning of the astrological wheel and year, and we often associate this passionate fire sign with red. It’s suitable, then, that I’m pairing the typical springtime pink with Aries. In the spring, this pink can range from soft baby or bubblegum pink to the vibrant magenta of magnolia blossoms. Envigorate your space in the new year with a desk that demands results with style, an angular marble coffee table, and a bright and cheery mirror to check yourself out in.\

TAURUS

In my mind, Taurus is the ultimate earth sign, heralding the height of spring. Taurus is little lambs roaming amongst the greenest pastures and fields of poppies. Therefore, a soft pastel green is what I’ll assign to Taurus for the spring season! There’s no wrong green, though - we’re talking mint, we’re talking yellow-green, we’re talking lamb’s ear. When refreshing your decor for spring, to truly decorate like a Taurus you'll want plush velvets, textured and elegant rugs, and a stylish way to put up your feet.\

GEMINI

There is nothing more Gemini than an electric, energetic yellow, so you guessed it - pastel yellow is Gemini’s spring companion. This yellow reminds of us of the coming warmth of summer, the fresh fruit in the garden, and outdoor fun. To add a punch of Gemini whimsy into your space this spring, we recommend some fabulous butter-yellow velvet swivel chairs, a graphic duvet cover for a great night's sleep, and a fun & funky floor lamp to brighten up that corner of the room that needs it.
