CELEB ROOMS PT 4: RYAN GOSLING

Hey girl (& gays & theys), feel his sweater. Yep- it’s boyfriend material. Our next celebrity vignette is dedicated to former Mouseketeer, La La Land heartthrob, and Ken of the Summer, Ryan Gosling! Mr Gosling is a Scorpio sun, Capricorn moon, and Pisces rising which made for a challenging but rewarding design. Considering his Capricorn moon and Scorpio rising, it made sense to select pieces for Ryan that were masculine but not hard - notice that many of the selections here have curved lines. In particular, the marble side table and dresser are hefty, solid pieces but not sharp or rugged. That Scorpio rising helps infuse a soft, moody aesthetic here. His Pisces moon inspired much of the blues and lighter colours, and anything super soft like the chunky blanket and shag rug. Cap & Scorpio lean sultry, but understated, and of course sophisticated. We couldn’t forget the sweater.

Ryan emits that cool, calm, collected energy - very much a modern man (whatever that means) but also clearly doesn’t take himself too seriously. A funky floor lamp, the abstract pattern on the rug, and fringe on the Lorenza Bozzoli stool speak to his more playful side, while each piece ties in with the energy we were tapping into. The colour of the floor lamp is very much a call to moody Pisces or even Scorpio; the earthiness and texture of the rug appeals to earth sign Capricorn; and the stool is a sexy, fun Scorpio vibe.

Considering Ryan is a major Hollywood star, we wanted to make sure this bedroom was fitting his artistic and professional achievements. By referencing his astrological signs, we made choices that were elegant, masculine-leaning and yet also a bit moody and unconventional. We hope a room like this would be a refuge after a long 14-hour day on set or a press tour. Even better, maybe he’ll invite us? Hi, Ken!
