This week we’ve designed a space for a famous, fabulous young actress: Zendaya! Admittedly, we chose Zendaya because we aren’t as familiar with her or her work (but we know she slays a red carpet!). She’s a Virgo sun, driving a design that’s modern, with clean lines and mostly lighter colours. Her Taurus moon craves luxury and comfort, however, and her Aquarius rising enjoys an unexpected pop of colour and a funky conversation piece. Ultimately the space needed to be youthful and fun while speaking to how elegant, relaxed and calm she is. This is her sanctuary, and only those closest friends are invited (sounds like her and Harry Styles, from Part 1, have this in common!).
Zendaya’s Virgo sun was the driving force behind this particular design. Virgo, being an air sign, enjoys lighter, airy colours; not necessarily pastels, but not super vibrant hues. One of the ways we incorporated this energy is through the colours: the blush, sage, navy and cream you see here. Notice, despite any particular form, that most of the furniture is pretty crisp in silhouette, too. We also kept in mind that this is a young, vibrant, modern woman with an elevated career - cue her Aquarius rising. Her rising sign is represented by the abstract patterns in the fabric and art, and the fun mirror from Coming Soon NY. And we can’t forget about her Taurus moon; why do you think the gorgeous sofa is velvet? Or there’s a big faux fur blanket at the ready? Natural elements - wood boxes, stone tables and lamps, and tactile items - will activate her Moon and improve any Taurus’ mood.
We want to talk about the furniture here, too. The gorgeous marble and crystal coffee table from Orior furniture is a great fusion of all her Big 3 signs - clean, classic, airy Virgo; fun, funky, cool Aquarius; and earthy, elegant Taurus. That navy chaise is modern, youthful, and perfect for a Taurus reading session with a cup of coffee in hand and the furry blanket draped elegantly for maximum comfort. We’ve already mentioned our choice of sofa and why it activates her Taurus moon, but the sleek, modern form and colour also activates her Virgo sun. Not to mention, it’s a great piece to have lots of friends on!
